Channel 4′s hospital documentary concludes with an instalment focusing on men of all ages facing illness and their own fears.

Arthur has been brought in to Resus complaining of stomach pains and the medics are trying to work out which of his underlying conditions could be to blame as he’s on kidney dialysis and has an existing ulcer as well as an enlarged aorta. But Arthur’s not one for complaining and we hear his daughter Debbie talk about her father’s positive attitude to life.

20 year old wine merchant Tom has been rushed to King’s after collapsing with acute chest pain and difficult breathing. Doctors are uncertain of the underlying cause of Tom’s pain as he has no history of a heart condition or respiratory problems.

Finally retired soldier Rockey has come to A&E with his wife Cordelia after experiencing blurred vision. Rockey, who was born in Guyana, is worried it could be a detached retina, which could lead to blindness. But Rockey does tend to be a glass-half-full kind of person, perhaps with good reason.

24 Hours in A&E concludes tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm
