Channel 4′s hospital documentary continues with an instalment focusing on a young girl who’s seriously injured when she’s run over by a bus, as well as other pedestrians who’ve ended up as patients in King’s.

12 year old Jade is rushed into King’s after being hit by a car and knocked under a bus while walking to school. Mum Amanda travels with her in the ambulance, alongside a police officer. Jade needs an emergency CT scan as the doctors are concerned that she may have fractured her skull meanwhile trauma consultant Des and his specialist paediatric team are on hand to deal with Jade’s injuries.

A few hours later, Des has his second road traffic victim of the day in the form of 60 year old Geraldine, who was knocked down by a car on her way home from a shopping trip. Elsewhere, 40 year old Brian has broken his ankle after running for a bus and now is forced to have his electronic curfew tag cut off as it is strapped around his increasingly swollen ankle.

Finally, we meet six year old Linus who’s come to King’s with his mum Polly after claiming to have swallowed a toy ring. Polly is later surprised to discover that this isn’t the first time he’s consumed small metal objects.
