Channel 4′s hospital documentary series continues with an episode which sees King’s medical team deal with a range of challenges from the treatment of a violent criminal to saving the life of a critically-injured father.

Meanwhile, father-of-two Tony is rushed into King’s by helicopter after being badly hurt in a head-on traffic collision. Tony, who was trapped in his van and had to be cut free, has a dislocated hip and a smash knee while he also can’t feel his right leg. It’s especially difficult for his parents as Tony’s brother Dean died in King’s aged just 17 after passing away from a brain haemorrhage. They now face the prospect of losing another son at the same hospital.

Elsewhere, 85-year old Eric is suffering from on-going stomach problems. He talks about how he and his partner Helen were first together in the 1960s before the relationship ended on bad terms. They then met again by chance thirty years later and have been together ever since.

Finally we meet Jim, whose been having difficulty breathing. He quickly strikes up a friendship with the female staff and muses on what it means to be a gentleman.
